Default Are the fees back up?

I've been away from the "process" for a couple of months and I'm now filing the
EAD request for my wife. I'm a bit confused about the fee. I thought it had
been lowered to $88, but the forms still say $120 and the INS website notes two
fee changes, one in Jan. and one in late Feb. Was the second one a restoration
of the original fees?
Thanks,
Marc

The fee was lowered only for a short time (30 days?) due to some budget
oddity

You are behind the times. The fee structure was reinstated on February 28, 2003 when Congress once again passed the bill that the USCitizens who are using the BCIS must pay the surcharge to cover the freebies given to aslyum and refugee claimants. And guess what? Refugees also qualify for welfare, government healthcare, subsidized housing and we foot the bill for that too.

Why would you sound bitter? Sounds like a very fair system to
me.....the BCIS tells us "you'll wait to be with your loved one til we
decide you're done, and you'll give us money to do this to you, so
that we can give freebies to non-citizens."
