Default Fee & Biometrics fee - Doubling up?

Both forms I-485 and I-131 require a biometrics fee. I am presuming that when submitting a whole package of documents (in my case I-130, 485, 864, 765, 131, G325A) I only need to pay the biometrics fee once. Is that correct?

Also, should there be an individual cheque for each form's fee or can there be a single cheque covering the total fees for all applicable fees?

Thanks.

No, they don't.

Most use a single check to cover everything.

Hi Ian,
Both of the instructions for form 131 and 485 list a $80 as a biometrics fee. I've just read them.

When doing AOS as you are, there is only a fee for the I-485 biometrics, which is $80. There is no fee for the I-765 biometrics. There are no biometrics done for the I-131.

OK, thanks. It does seem logical, that one would pay for biometrics only once.

But really, the I-131 does seem to have biometrics. See the instructions at following link, page 8

If that's the case, there is no fee for it. You only pay the $80 once.

You can write one check for the total. Make sure you include the fee for the I-130, the I-485, and the biometrics.

With respect, you have misinterpreted the I-131 instructions. You are not applying "for a Refugee Travel Document or Re-Entry Permit". Therefore, there is no biometrics fee. I also, have read the instructions!

Yes, there are biometrics for the I-131, I-765 and I-485. In the case of the I-131 and I-765 it is photo biometrics only and for the I-485 it is fingerprint biometrics and photo. Yes, I know that you have to include the photos yourself with the application but the USCIS has not updated the forms to eliminate their enclosure.
