Entering on an I Visa
Hi,
I was just issued an I visa, but have some questions left (which I
should have asked at the consulate but honestly I forgot):
1. If I enter on my I visa, do I need to have some other documentation
other than my stamp in the passport (like letter from employer, proof
of journalistic credentials etc.)
2. If Im going to the US for other reasons than journalistic (like
vacation etc.) can I enter on my I visa or should I use the VWP
program.
Best regards,
Sebastian

If you are accredited by a well-known organization, your credentials
should be enough.
I wouldn't use the I visa to enter for a holiday if your relationship to
the credentialing organization no longer exists. But (for example) if
you are returning from a foreign bureau to a new assignment, and you
plan to vacation in the U.S. for a month before you start, entry on the
I would probably be viewed as ok.
