Default USA trained doctor

Hello,
Has anyone heard of a US trained doctor making the move to UK? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

Might have more luck posting in the nursing section, plenty of nurses going either way, so they might be able to help more....

Try these sites:
http://www.gmc-uk.org
http://www.bma.org.uk

And if you need a visa, http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk is the first port of call.

Have you taken USMLE step 3? So long as you have graduated from an accredited US medical school and eligible to practice in the USA, you are eligible for provisional registration with the GMC. Have you done a residency? If so you may be eligible to apply for a specialist registrar position.

Best thing is to contact the GMC. They are very use to helping foreign trained doc's and you will have no problem getting a job, even if you are not a UK or EU citizen. Visa sponsorship for foreign trained doc's is very common.

Best of luck.

I'd also look at the Highly Skilled Migration Program from the UK visas website.
