Employment while waiting for Motion to Reopen Appointment
I am married to a US citizen. I applied for permanent residence status
and was denied. I filed a motion to reopen and have my meeting in
April. I got a job offer from a company but they do not sponsor
employment visas. Is there any way I can get permission to work while
I wait for my meeting or do I have to pass up this job offer? any
input would be helpful, thanks.

On what basis were you denied.

The office needed a 2004 tax return from my husband, we were told this
during our interview. we dropped it off there personally, the said they
never recieved it and denied my application because I did not comply
with their request for evidence within the 30 day period. We were
interviewed by one DAO and denied by another. Its been impossible to
get through to talk to someone.

You cannot get employment permission during the reopen period as technically there is no adjustment application pending. Unfortunately. We got my husband's case reopened this fall (took about 2 months) after it was erroneously denied due to USCIS believing he had not attended a fingerprint appointment which he had in fact attended. Have you tried Infopass? Congressman?

This was for a DIY AOSers that was denied for failing to attend interview (and they hadn't moved while their case was pending). They came to me for the motion to reopen. I prepared and filed it, and the motion to reopen was approved.
The approval letter for the motion to reopen said my client could now file for employment authorization again. We did, and he obtained a new EAD.
The subsequent AOS interview happened some time after that.
So, is your motion to reopen granted? If so, did the paperwork (approval letter) mention anything about being eligible to apply for employment authorization?

Thanks. I am trying to get the appointment rescheduled to an earlier
date. Went through infopass--no luck there, they just told me I have to
wait. I'm trying through congressman, but New York is so crazy, they
can't make any promises.

I'm so sorry to hear this happened to you. We had our application denied for failure to appear (notice was sent to old address). I had the same question and to save ourselves the frustration we just reapplied for his AOS. I feel like I went back in time three years
I wish you the best of luck. You mentioned you are in NY. You may want to try calling Congresswoman Maloney's office.
