Default Employment Sponsorship - Florida

Hi everyone, me again. I thought I better post a new thread as this question is slightly different.

I have been contacting some US employers today about possible vacancies and seeing if sponsorship is available.

A company has come back to me and said, they don’t believe sponsorship is available for this role but if this isn’t a deal breaker I can send resume.

She knows I am from UK as I advised and discussed sponsorship. So if they won’t sponsor it is a deal breaker isn’t it? There are so many routes in, am I missing one? Can I pay for my own sponsor if they offer me a job? Can I get in if they offer me a job?

I don’t want to sound silly but I thought they had to sponsor me?

help please

thanks

Fiona

Many companies don't understand what has to be done to bring in an overseas employee. Yes, you need either a sponsor who will complete all the paperwork for you (and pay the fees!), or you need to already have a visa that gives you the right to work through another route (for instance, if you were headed to the US as the spouse of a USC).

What they mean is that if you ever are already in the USA with the right to work (such as you are the spouse of an L visa holder and have an EAD, have an immigrant visa as the spouse of a USC, etc., most of which probably won't apply to you), they'd be interested in seeing you. But they aren't going to sponsor your work visa.

.... and, not all jobs are eligible for a visa ......
As you are probably looking at the H-1b visa, read up on this website:

You are also approaching companies in NZ about sponsorship for NZ visas? Boy oh boy you really want to get out of the UK! Having lived in all three, I prefer the U.S. NZ and U.S. are quite different.
