Default Employment based Green Card

Hello

I'm a Portuguese citizen, I have High School diploma, EU driver's license class B,C and D with air brake, 6+ years experience on transportation area as air force corporal and I also have NATO references. I would like to know what are my chances to emigrate to U.S. with green card based on EB3(b) VISA? I've searched for jobs of my area like truck or bus dispatch and I found a lot of vacancies and most of them require completely the same assignments I did. Basically, my problem is less school and more experience.

PS:I applied for DV2011 green card.

Thanks in advance.

Based on an employment visa, you can't get a green card until after you're in the US and your employer has applied on your behalf.

Read this: http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Pulaski_Simplified. If you can answer "yes" to any of the questions, you have a chance. If not, you won't be coming to the US as anything other than a visitor.

That means I will always have to go to USA to apply for a job and after that the employer fill the forms to UCSIS and the department of labor? Let's suppose I'm approved on all steps,if I go for adjustment of status it will take longer than consular processing, right? That means I have to go to USA for interview, etc and then have to return to my home Country in order to follow the consular processing, right?

I could answer "yes" to one, not bad, LOL! Possibly 2, I don't know what "specialist skills" means exactly on US labor language.

Even if you find a employer willing to assist with EB3 you are still going to be stuck with retrogression and currently have several years waiting.

I disagree. No reason an employer could not sponsor an immigrant visa directly.

However, in the case of the OP it is unlikely to happen. His category is EB3 and the employer would have a rather long wait before having the OP's fine services available.

The DV is probably your best bet. Your work skills are highly unlikely to secure you a suitable immigration status.

Yes, I expected that, I also would like to know about Canada, The only position I would occupy would be NOC 7222.

Even through consular processing? I heard it would take about 6 months. Whats does "OP" mean?

OP is the original poster.

For the consulate to process the paperwork and issue a visa, you're certainly in a 6 month time frame, give or take. However, for an EB3 immigrant visa, you need to get to the front of the line before they start processing. They're currently processing those who joined the line in September 2002.

No idea about Canada, check the Canadian immigration side of this site for info there.

Best bet is the diversity lottery, doesn't cost anything to keep filing every where till/if you get picked, then you have to pay for it.

Christ!lol, I would have to wait until 2018. Summarizing, my only chance is DV and nothing more.

I will check about Canada on the appropriate sector of the forum then.

Thanks for your help.
