Mr F the return flight wasn't even with delta or airfrance, it was with KLM so the return portion is with a totally different airline.

Anyways, after a horrible landing at JFK and an hour and 15 min wait at POE james finally got to the front of the line, hands over his passport no questions, a bunch of page flipping and stamping happened then he was sent to an office, he was asked 2 questions, where are you coming from and when will you get married... More stamping happens. The io hands back his passport and james says "that's it?" Io walks away like left and didn't come back so james booked it, got his luggage and ran for the lobby.

Our son and I were waiting and pacing and waiting, I finally see him coming down the corridor!! YAY! Our babĂ˝ who was 1 1/2 months old when he left and will be 4 mths in 3 days was falling asleep but he was content enough to give his daddy a big smile.

James recounts his poe experience I quickly check his passport for all the right stamps... White I194 blue stamp under that, ead and away we went!!

We took him through brooklyn got him his first white castle then headed to manhattan to see the empire and the intrepid and trump plaza... He's happy to be home

AP, I have been reading your posts, and you have been through one heck of an ordeal the last few weeks/months. I am so glad that your James has finally made it. I really hope that Lady Luck shines on you because you and your stamina have earned it.

You need to take him to a good Jewish Deli for a pastrami on rye! Also the bagels in NYC are better than any in the UK! Although my husband still prefers Tesco bagels! Also get him a good old slice of NY pizza!

I send care packages of NY Bagels to daughter and her transplanted Connecticut neighbor down to Mississippi every month.

It must be a lovely feeling for him to be finally reunited with his family and especially his baby son who he has not seen for 3 months.

I know my husband hates being away from his girl for 24 hours! I say girl I mean tomboy really.

Congrats on the final member arriving in the US.

AP, it's wonderful that it all worked out! (consider taking your other half to Red Robin if he likes hamburgers!)

After reading this thread, I think I'll stick with using BA

( Round trips are cheaper and he is going to use the return flight to visit in 1 yrs time were just going to buy another round trip ticket for his return to the US...etc etc...so that at least we both know, if he ever has to fly back to the UK for whatever reasons, he has a ticket to go home all ready, would just have to pay to have the dates changed if needed not to mention james has a sister dying in Derby...so whos to say when that return ticket may be used! and its not even on delta!!!)

so he begins to question james as to his intentions and why hes going to america... very invasive questions considering the clerk saw James k-1 visa in his passport. anyways, the clerk took his passport with the visa and his itinerary to another clerk who proceeded to tell this nosey clerk that it was perfectly normal and since the passport and visa are valid, there are no problems. When he came back to finish checking James in, he was rather rude and had a condescending tone when he said "Enjoy your flight" you know sucked in teeth, head wobble and funny little accent...

Obviously the clerk knows nothing about immigration or the little he did know was about the VWP overstays....I think it was a bit much that james had to explain to the clerk about having the visa, adjusting status, dying sister, return ticket etc etc... he wouldnt even issue the boarding pass until after the other clerk told him there was no problem. Check in time took about 20 mins....

Now hes called me in a panic ( yes my ever loving OCD suffering fiance ) wondering if the return flight will now pose a problem in the US at the POE....i assured him it wouldnt, people do this every day, and if they did give him any trouble about it, explain the cost ( which im sure IO's know about and the fact he can change the flight dates at any time and buy another roundtrip ticket in the future....)
Hey Agentpeppermint! Congrats on your Marriage by the way!

I am flying Delta tomorrow now that I have my Visa - as in my thread - I have just explained that Delta wouldn't let me do online check-in today due to Visa Requirements... I too booked a return flight because it's more than half-price of a One-way, but my return part is for next week (again alot cheaper). Did your better half try checking in online the day before?!

I am worried they might try make me pay for a full one-way!!!

ARGH!
