Im in a bit of confusion at the moment, I would like to delay my visa for just a few months. I have my interview(E3) in just over a months time. However I have not had my medical done yet. My issue is that it isn't convenient now, I know they are not sympathetic to this. I have enquired about cspa for my son whose calculated age is around 18, still waiting on a response. any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. just need a little more time.

Once the visa is issued, you can enter the US any time after that. You don't have to go right away.


Correct, they're not. That said, as long as the medical is completed ahead of the interview you'll be fine. If the medical results aren't available at the interview, the officer will allow time for them to arrive.


Why don't you contact them and request that the interview be rescheduled?

Thank you Ian for your swift reply. Yes I had that thought but I didn't want them to drastically push the application back by years. Just finding out my options before I come to a concrete decision.
