Dallas AOS: weird delay
So we file for AOS at Dallas in early October, and we just now get a
receipt in the mail. The receipt is dated 10/7 or so (not in front of
me), right when they got the package from us, but the envelope it's in
wasn't mailed until 2 December.
So...
Does this maybe mean that our AOS package is on someone's desk, so
maybe a FP/appt letter is To Be Expected Soon?
Or does it mean that they're only just now getting our AOS package out
of some whopping great pile of them, so that we can expect an interview
in 2010?
Or is it maybe just a wacky co-eenkydeenk or happenstance that doesn't
mean anything?
Anyone with more experience and wisdom than me know?

Heh-heh. The *postmarks* on the letters that were sent (separately) to my
2 kids extending their residence after I filed I-751 were both 26-Sep-2002.
But I didn't *mail* the I-751 until the 3rd Oct 2002 and the letters inside
the envelopes were both dated 10th Oct 2002. Just more evidence that TSC is
in a time warp or a parallel (or not) universe to the rest of us.
Probably it just sat on a desk until it got sent out of their mail room.
But have you checked the date the fee check was cleared through your bank?
Might be worth checking. They may have held the letter until the check was
cleared (I understand they more-or-less automatically generate the receipt).
