CIS URL Change
I don't know if anyone has been having trouble accessing the CIS
Website, but it seems that they have removed the www from the URL and it
doesn't redirect if you do use the www.
http://uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm (new)
http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm (old)
Website, but it seems that they have removed the www from the URL and it
doesn't redirect if you do use the www.

They also changed some of the other related URLs also, like the Case Status
Search Page.
If you have a bookmark directly to the status search page, you can have it
appear with your application receipt number already entered in the box by
bookmarking this URL:
https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/ca...?appReceiptNum
=#############&submit=search
(############# - replace these pound symbols with your 13 character number)
This will save you from having to type in the long number each time you want to
check your status.

They must have fixed it, today, but they did remove the www. When I now enter
it with the www it changes to without the www, but the site does open. For the
last few days if I used it with the www I got the "page not found" error
message.
To late now, since I already changed the URLs to all the Bookmarks I have with
the CIS Website yesterday.

Why not register? That way you can log in, check the status of all
cases, and have them notify you by email when and if anything changes.
The log in page will tell you it doesn't work with Netscape (Mozilla),
but it does!!
With IE because you must select "customer" or "representative" the
"password manager" (or whatever IE calls it) won't work. But with
Mozilla the information is there. I simply pick "customer" from the drop
down list, click on "submit" and all the information for the application
(3 of them) is displayed.
Sorry I went a bit OT, but I try to get everyone NOT to use IE!!

Re: CIS URL Change
I can get into the site itself, but for some reason, the case status page cannot be found when I click on it. Typical! They just took away my last ray of hope!

I see you have a bracket character added in your url above. try it without.
Actually all you need is-
https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/ca...?appReceiptNum
=SRCxxxxxxxxxx
(where SRCxxxxxxxxxx = your 10 character application receipt number.)
Try again. Let me know if it does not work for you.
