Hello,

I have a consular processing at the Chennai Consulate. Since I lived sometime in
Canada, I have to get a Police Clearance Certificate from the RCMP. Well, the RCMP
has two types of Clearance certificates : one based on name check and the other based
on finger prints.

Does anybody know which one is accepted in the perspective of US immigration visa,
particularly, the one accepted by the Chennai Consulate.

Thanks for your replies.

Ray

If you have no criminal record - the name check police report is acceptable. If you
have anything at all on your criminal record, you would have to get a fingerprint
report. Take Care. Shelley
