Hi all

YES, there is life after you get out of the INS tunnel.. The sky is = blue, grass is
green, etc.. etc.. ad nauseum..

Got to the KC INS office @ 1100 for an 1130 interview and waited to be = called..
Called at 1130 to go into the interview and the wife was not = allowed to follow..
Spent a genial 30 minutes with the INS officer = (Sharon) where we discussed various
topics including the mandatory INS = stuff we were there for..=20

Sworn in to tell the truth, etc.. Went thru the N - 400 form to clarify the answers I
gave.. Asked to read - "The horses are at the farm".. Asked to print - "The children
are on the playground".. Asked questions on the civics and govt. You need to get 60%
(6 outa 10) = to pass.. Nailed them all so she stopped at 6

#13 24 26 51 64 81

Spent about 10 minutes discussing various things that interested us..

Congratulated on passing the interview and depending on how many are = ahead of me
will go to the swearing in ceremonies either in August or = September..

All in all a very low key interview.. All the forms they asked me to = bring with me
were not asked for or needed,, Best to have them anyway..

Now that I'm thru this whole process I would suggest that everyone move = to the
Kansas City area because they are the most helpful and laid back = people you could
ever want to be involved with.. They do their job = but............

For those having problems with the SS people.. I have personally seen = the SS
counselors go out into the parking lot to interview clients who = were thought to
have difficulties getting into the office.. They are = outstanding..

I can't say enough about all the people I have had to deal with in this = whole 4
year process.. Do your homework, provide what they ask for in = the order they ask
for it and you will not have any problems..

All the best - will keep lurking

Ed (Can) & Serena (US)/98

I think I'm still sober..

I am a very happy camper..

If I could give anyone advice it would be - give the INS wot they ask for, and in the
order they ask for it.. You may not see the reason, agree with the reason.. Who
cares.. The INS cares, that's who.. Baffle them with more paperwork than they ask for
and they'll bend over backwards for you.. It's their ballgame and they hold all the
marbles.. I learned this when I drove from Canada to Costa Rica.. It doesn't matter
wot the published tariffs for crossing any given border are, if they say they want
$XX, give it to them.. They hold your future in their hands.. Please do not think for
a moment that I am saying the INS personnel are anything but honorable.. They are
just doing their job and anything you can do to help them will make the whole process
go more smoothly, and will in effect speed up your application.. Agree with me or
not, in the 4 years we have been dealing with them, we have not had any problems..

All the best to everyone..

ED

I have to agree with you Ed. I have always held this view and now more so. With you
as the living proof. We haven't had a problem so far either. This is something that
the folks here have to learn. Like you said, give them what they ask for........ and
more!! It works everytime. Some like to call it the "overkill". So what. Like I
always say, nothing to lose. Way to go!! Ranjini
