Smile Blanket application

Hi, just a quick question
my husband will be applying for a l1a visa and his company have told him that now they will be applying for a blanket application instead of the individual one.
How does this affect us? Is it easier to have a blanket application or more hassel?
Many thanks!

The Blanket L-1 is a procedure whereby a very large company can pre-qualify to transfer L-1 employees. Once the Blanket L-1 is approved, the company has the flexibility to transfer people to the U.S. quickly and on short notice without having to file a petition with USCIS. Instead, a special form is submitted to the U.S. consulate abroad to grant the individual an L-1 visa to enter.

yes - my husbands firm has a blanket petition too. Essentially it means they will transfer enough staff that they do a 'global' petition that can be reused by numerous individual L1 visas and dont have to resubmit a new petition establishing their credentials each time. Should mean it goes a bit faster as the firm is a bit more trusted- does it a lot so it knows what its doing and has the petition part for the firm already done. So will just have to do the petition part for your husband.

I would say it will improve the chances of securing a visa when you apply blanket.

Ray, Do you know anything or you just undermine people? When a company applies for Blanket visas it is processed quicker compared to just one visa at a time.

Alix, have you been on the internet before? There are two types of people that generally use the internet: thoz tht tlk in stpid txt spk, dnt chk spllinz or rite in propr sentncz, and those of us that hate those people.

He's not saying you're wrong, just pointing out that the way you've phrased it doesnt make sense. Go back and read your post again, as an individual statement. It just sounds like something that would come out of the mouth of the drunk at the train station...
