Was that in Tampa FL?

NY ACS offices are good that way. Many nationwide will do the same as well. But it is a "take the time and go and see for yourself" kind of thing if there hasn't been some reporting in prior that they have done this at the ACS you are using.

Also, the OP's appointment isn't at an ASC (which often takes walk ins), it's at the actual USCIS office (which rarely takes walk ins...you need an Infopass appointment to be seen).

Thanks again.

So glad this is my third and FINAL family process.
I did my citizenship at that Tampa office a couple of years ago (3 visits). It is new, modern and seemed efficient and fairly relaxed . (And closer to 30 mins from Madeira Beach, unless rush hour, if that's where you live!)

If it was me I would try the info pass route suggested, if you can get one before the appointment on 1 nov. or just turn up the day before, after school, and chance it. The biometrics area is right next to the entrance/security, and across the hall from the main waiting area.

Let us know how it goes.

You must be travelling in a DeLorean, it most certainly does not take 30 mins from Mad Beach to Hoover Blvd, Tampa. Try 45 mins on a good day.

Fair enough. I am quite close to I 275 so it would be quicker. I mentioned it to distinguish between "at least an hour" and "at most an hour" for those not living in our locality

In other words, it is not far.
