B2 visa
Hello,
I wanted to take part in a scientific meeting in US and
the visa officer accepted my application and told me
to connect later to see if my record is clear. In form 156
I stated that I would intend to stay in US for 3 weeks. The duration
of meeting is 7 days.I want to see some historical places in US too.
Do you think if I show a round trip ticket to INS that will specify
my intention to come back to my country after 3 months, they
permit me to stay 3 months in US?Or they only allow me to stay 3 or 4
weeks in accordance to my initial claim?
Surena.

How long they admit you is up to the individual INS officer, but in most
cases they will admit you for six months regardless of how long your
actual activity will take. So you should have plenty of time.
