B1/B2 extension question

I came to the States on a bussiness visa. My I-94 ends in March.
I wonder how likely that my B1/B2 status be etended for 6 mo. more since I would like to
do a lot of travelling around the country and visit with several friends of mine?
Do I need to file any additional documents besides I-539 form?
