Appy for Green Card in December - How long until I get EAD? - Worried
Hi,
I am planning to apply for my GreenCard in December 2003, as my current H1-b will expire in May 2004.
If I apply for my EAD at the same time, will I get it in time to allow me to continue working for the same company?
I am really worreid about this.
I live in Manhattan, New York.
Thanks,
Chris

If you don't get an EAD within 90 days immigration law allows you to go in
person to the office and demand an interim EAD. However, December - May
should be long enough for even the slowest offices.
I take it you are adjusting status based on marriage to a USC and that you
aren't yet married? If you are already married to the USC might as well file
now.
