Any Ideas??
This was the email I received from my lawyer .. when I asked about our I129
receipt that I never got a copy of and only found out the date yesterday. I
asked if it was a good time to contact a congressman.. and this is the
response I got.. Why does the US hate Haiti? I really don't have a clue.
My name is AMBER!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Linda, I do not expect to receive any confirmation from the INS about the
photos. I could not get them to respond to what the problem was with the
first ones we sent.
You should have a copy of the INS receipt that I sent you earlier. If not,
I can send you another copy. It is dated as I indicated in my last e-mail.
Amber, as we have always discussed, Haiti is one of the more suspect areas
to the INS. It does not surprise me that they are acting with caution on
this application. You are always welcom to contact congressmen. They
always have a staff member who does nothing but interact with the INS and
may be able to apply some preasure that neither you nor I have. However, I
can tell you that their clout is limited.

The consulates that are "hard" are the ones where there has been a very
high degree of visa fraud attempts in the past. Most all of the
Caribbean consulates fall into this category. Very poor people will do
almost anything to gain admission into the US, hence the high rate of
visa fraud. It is nothing against you personally, just their normal
routine, after having been lied to by so many applicants.
