Hi,

I have submitted my i485. But I just changed my home address. I have couple
questions:
1. Are those further notices from INS forwardable?
2. Where how can I notify INS this change ( I had receipt ).

Thanks in advance.

Lilac,

INS law requires that aliens report a permanent change of address to INS within 10
days of the move. There are fines ($100) and jail time (30 days) for failure to do
so. I have never seen thin enforced, but it is on the books. The INS change of
address form is the AR-11 and can be downloaded from the following web sight,

http://www.ins.gov/graphics/index.htm

You can also get one at any U.S. Post Office. I would follow up the AR-11 with a
simple letter to your INS files control office (FCO) being sure to include the old
and new address as well as your A number.

When you filed your I-485, INS should have assigned you an A Number (like A12 345
678) it should be on your fee receipt for the I-485. It is a number that starts with
the letter "A" and is different than your social; security number.
