We have decided that we are going home.
We arrived here in Sept after what seemed like an eternity waiting for our visa. 2.5 years to get here infact.
It just is not working out for us and we are biting the bullet and going home.
I have 2 teenage boys and a husband who really hate being here and although I dont want to go back I have to do what is best for my family.
We could go through the palava of moving areas, states etc. but I know in my heart that it is not for them.
Who knows what the future will bring and we have a 5 year visa so anything is possible.
I say all this with a heavy heart.
I really thank all of you who helped us in the past, and I wish those of you over here and those heading over all the best.
Love
Shabee

don't give up hope, we were like you in similar circumstances 2 yrs ago, OH didn't like it, boys were unsettled, we went back to UK, OH realised why he wanted to move to aus, boys really missed aus, i was unhappy back in UK, we applied for a diff. visa (long story but we got it!) 2 yrs later we are back, diff. state, things still hard but getting better,we never expected it to be easy but no rose tinted glasses this time, we are also expecting at least 2 yrs to get to where we want to be but would we go back to UK- no way!( nothing against UK but just like Aus. better.)Keep your fingers crossed, it may work out...

Hi,
Thought I would give an update.
We have been living in a rented flat since we came back, its been a nightmare. Living at the opposite side of Aberdeen and having to drive the kids back and forth to school and mates etc.
But!!! however we have managed to have a offer on a house accepted last week and we get the keys on the 20th of March. Not to long to wait, which is good. We are going to move in with no furniture again lol, back to blow up beds again! Our shipment in due to arrive in the UK on the 29th.
Good thing about coming back when we have is that we got the house really cheap so what we spent on going to Oz we have re-cooped.(if thats how you spell re-cooped lol). We are now going to be mortgage free, wonderful.
So going to Oz has actually benefited us in another way as we still had 11 years left on our old mortgage. Sold and bought just at the right times.
We are both back working and the boys are back to school and loving it.
Also got my Westie back, god i missed her!
I thank you all for your constant support and I will keep reading the posts on here just to see what you are all up to.
Love

Hey there! So glad to hear you're feeling happier and more settled. I was beginning to worry that you hadn't given it enough time in Oz - but I think we can all see how much happier you are as a family to be back in Scotland!

Fantastic news about the house too. At least you can always say you gave it a go and it wasn't for you.
Best of luck always,
Irish Gal x
