I'm wrecking the kitchen here trying to make a slimming world recipe thingy, it's basically using cooked couscous as a 'batter', you roll whatever you want battered in egg and then roll it in the couscous, I tried it earlier but forgot to cook the couscous and it was like eating grit lol :p |

Re: The 'Jen1977au' thread
WOO HOO OUR FURNITURE IS HERE! YAY! Unfortunately the two huge chest of drawers we bought in the summer from Ikea are BOTH broken, gutted! Aw well, looks like we're gonna have to claim off the insurance and build them ALLLLL OVER AGAIN LOLOL
Slightly concerned though as in the UK they were under £100 but here they cost $299, the exact same ones, does anyone envisage us having any problems with the insurance company over this?! We've 14 days to claim so want to wait til everythings sorted and checked and then phone... |
Re: The 'Jen1977au' thread
Your goods should have been insured on the amount it would have cost to replace them in Australia. It also depends on how you insured them ie. did you insure each item with it's own value or did you just do a general value of say £25k?
If you did £25k and you are over insured rather than under insured then you should be fine. If however you under insured or did them on an idividual basis, you may have a problem. good to have your things though! :) |

It's only savings if you want to use your savings account! To use you current account it's cheque. Although Westpac leaflet says to press credit normally and only to use cheque when you'd be charged a fee for using credit! - It's all very weird.
Faxes - they do still use them in the UK. E-mails (scanned in stuff) is less secure, apparently held on servers for months on end as backups, so to send information without fear of interception (as long as you have the right number!) fax is the way to go - or so I'm told! :-) All-in-one printers are definitely very cool and so handy for the odd photocopying! I reckon if buying a printer these days better to get a cheap laser rather than an ink one. A lot cheaper in the long run. Buy a separate scanner or cheap 3 in 1 just for scanning. |

Well that's my first morning of volunteering for the RSPCA, so far, so good! :) Was hard getting out of bed so early again though, but I'll soon get used to it lol
