Well, I would say we wouldnt care either but the rental income wouldnt cover the mortgage, so that means we would be starting our new life with a deficit every month. Not ideal, and the equity, although its getting less and less, is the financial safety net to our set up in Oz.

Its a pain! Good luck came out of our bad luck when we emigrated in 1997 we couldnt get what we paid for our house and the sale we did get fell through just before we were about to emigrate but then ended up renting it out, ended up returning 3 years later and the house was worth 1/3 more so thank God we didnt sell. Its so frustrating when a mortgage stops you living your dream. My husbands goal in life is to be Mortgage free ... (dont know when that will happen!!)
