Hiya beth,
Liz here. CONGRATULATIONS
I bet you can't believe it. that has to be some sort of record for getting a job offer through so quick. bet they will want himn out there quite quick. You may have to rent like we are going to ...or just he go out there first until you sell. Mind you, with the housing market that could be who knows how long!!
I bet you are so made up..get the bubbly out. I have just been told all my visa docs are in order, been asked to register with the Podiatrists Board of Queensland and get my meds done asap. they are booked for the 06th feb..shitting it!!
Am so pleased for you. Thanks for your PM's.
Lizx

Hi Liz......LOL...my Dad is a Chiropodist so I've been brought up looking at other people's feet
BTW.......the only bloods they took at our meds were HIV tests......they only do the Hep C if you will be working as a nurse/doctor or with kids etc. So don't fret too much about your liver enzymes going crazy on your diet...LOL
Our meds took 22 days to be finalised after arriving at LCU......but some people have said 3 days
Still having a major panic over what the start date will be for hubby.......but I guess we will work something out soon with the house.

Hey Chiropodist is a swear word to Podiatrists!! ha ha, we still do old peoples feet too (well not for much longer) but we now have to do a degree which involves much anatomy, physiology, biomechanics etc..which I fortunately love. No more corns and callus for me when we get to Oz..i will just be doing sports injuries..yipeeeeee!! I have a sports therapy diploma and did a bit of that but it wasn't quite enough which is why I have done the degree..to specialise in lower limb injuries..all those nice football and rugby players legs!
Hope they only do HIV, I will have to have Hep B and C as had to have them done here for the job. I have a printout of bloods anyway that were only done 3 months ago so will take them with me.
You will be over there so soon.
Lets hope my meds come back in 3 days then! I want to be out there by the end of March so I can sponsor Jen and get her out there before June for her 40th birthday (old git)! Playing off the removal firms against each other at the moment to see who will reduce theirs the most! Got 2 more lots coming Friday to give quotes..like to be organised. One company quoted £8000, I nearly fell of my chair and e mailed asking if they had quoted for 2 houses to be shipped!
Thanks for your mails.
Lizx
Got dog shippers sorted and managed to get few hundred quid off of that.

They don't do a full blood check on your meds......so you'll be fine!!!

You little devil Bix. You really are quite a celebrity on this site aren't you..and a brilliant source of info for cairns..ever thought of writing a book? You would make a fortune! Now, if you take that seriously I want creative rights!!

Kaye, you are on this site far too much...ooops, that means I must be too. May need therapy to ween me off it. Need therapy for a lot of things!

Beth, you can PM me anytime..will send you my number if you ever need a chat..we are in the same boat..except you have your visa and the goal is in clear sight!! You have harder family goodbyes than me though. I think you will have to get your mum out there on a retirement visa what with both you and your sister going out there!:lol:

Quick question for anyone in Cairns, a post on the barbie has inspired me to ask do we need heating in Cairns at any particular time of year.

I know I have been told that its shorts weather all year round but does it get cold enough to need it.

thanks

Kaye x

i think you will be dissappointed on the curry front. there are a few restaurants in town and soon to be one in palm cove but fairly ordinary.
