Was really moved by your update post. It rang so many bells with me. I left my adult son in the UK 18 months ago and it was so so hard. He is now almost 29 and still sitting on the fence as to whether he will join us out here. So I do know what you are going through. One thing that I hope you can realise, is that your kids will do what they want to do regardless of where YOU are in the world. When I first got here I panicked because I felt I had lost 'control' if you like of my Son's fate. It took me a while to realise that I never did have control of it even when I lived in the same town. Somehow that has helped me come to terms with the fact that we don't figure hugely in his life now. He's rubbish at keeping in touch but then he always was when we lived in England.
At least you will be seeing your children again soon. I hope you can make this adventure work. The world is much smaller than we all think and you are only a plane ride away from them.
All the best.

Thanks Debs.
Realised a long time ago that the kids will do what they want to regardless.
Son has now been back in the UK just over a week. He's staying with his eldest sister. He has an allergy to her dog and has been ill since he got back.
I've been busy with work conferences and job applications as I am on a temporary contract and need to keep reapplying for my job. I must admit though that it has been a blessing being so busy as it's been less time to dwell on things.
Early days yet but OH and I have been enjoying some US TIME.
Don't suppose we'll know how we feel until after our break back in the UK in July.

Enjoy the kid free time for a while with your OH.
You never know, your children may have second thoughts in time and may end up out here with you two. I still hope that my son will eventually see the light, but I'm not holding my breath.
You owe it to yourselves as my hubby and I do, to enjoy this adventure. We feel blessed that we've been given the opportunity to give it a go as I know there are thousands of people in the UK that would give anything to be able to do what we are doing.
Stay positive and enjoy the ride!
