Hi everyone!
We are moving to Geelong in about 8 weeks very nervous!
How did you find the rental situation? Is there lots of properties available?
We are heading to Highton we fall in love with it when we visited it a few months ago.
Which schools in Highton do you recommend?
Sorry so many questions!!!
Thanks
Jackie and Family

I'll come to a meet in Geelong as soon as I get my house sold - so don't boil the kettle just yet, lol!
The first time we went, we stayed at Barwon Caravan Park, in Belmont until we found a rental. It is walking distance from Coles, pizza hut, the city centre (if you like a good walk) and Belmont high street. It is also on a bus route so is very handy if you don't have transport yet. http://www.barwoncaravanpark.com.au/
Easy to get to both Highton and Grovedale from there too. We actually intend to go there when we get back if we get this house sold before we have given the tenants 60 days notice to move out.

I got homesick after 4 years in Geelong and finally succumbed to my OH begging us to move back. It took 6 months in Scotland before we realised that Scotland and the life we had here was dependant on 2 incomes and no kids. Now we have 1 income and 4 kids so we really can have a better life in Australia. The house is on the market but we have only had one viewer so far. Hopefully someone will come along after the holidays and we can be back in Oz for Christmas!

We stayed at the Barwon Valley Lodge which is next door to the caravan park, nice brick built apartments and warm, the people that run it are Bill and Jan lovely couple can't do enough to help you, Bill's like a walking encyclopdia of Geelong and anything you need to know he will help you. Bring some woolies with you cause its not very warm at the moment.
Good luck with your journey.

Hi Karen,
We are doing well, really really settled. Eldest son came out last week to stay for good so whole family is now complete. We will have to met up for coffee one of the days in Geelong.
Jackie we have been here since the end of October and loving every minute of it, we are slowly making friends and now don't seem to have a free weekend, always out for one thing or another, would you believe we are off out for christmas dinner next week!!!! something to do with the cold weather so I am told. My boys have settled in very well and love the fact that in the summer they can come home from work and go off to the beach and surf, they have no intention of going back to the UK so that makes our life so much easier.
