Hi Tracey it's Karen from James Cook (radiographer). Glad u and your family have settled in and having a great time. You certainly don't mess about in getting houses etc organised - good for you. We arrived on the Sunshine coast 2nd Dec and are in the process of trying to find a rental etc etc. We are liking it over here just feel abit weird with it being xmas in 11 days time and not feeling very festive at all. Jamie has already bought a surf board and Bethany a Body board and are making good use of them and we all went to our first RSL club tonight with friends we just met at our apartments which we enjoyed - it was great getting picked up and dropped off again Hopefully try and get to see you and your family again and will try and keep in touch

Wow what a woman, what a post. So brave of you.
Glad everything is going good and I hope all of you the best of luck, love and happiness in your new life.
I was just moaning to my hubby about something really stupid and feeling insecure about our move, but after reading how you did all that on your own bringing your kids, dogs etc not knowing where you were going etc, Im ashamed of myself for moaning - good for you. Have a fab xmas and new year you certainly deserve it. xx

Re: 3 months in!
Thanks everyone, we are settling in nicely, just need the young lady to start college now and all will be well (apart from the fact I'm going to have a logistical nightmare getting them where they both need to be )
Pools about done, just waiting for them to come and clean it up a bit and show me how the filter works etc. The little lad is desperate to have a dip, just took me out this morning to show me how clean the water looks compared to a few days ago. He has designated himself as the pool man, has stated that he will keep it clean etc. (wonder how long that will last )
The cats and dogs are getting along a little better, apart from the big dog attempted to bite one of the kittens heads off last night they are at least sharing the same room now. The little chihuahua is desperate to be their friends but they keep hitting him every time he goes near one of them, he's a bit scared now! My christmas tree is wrecked and the place is a madhouse, nothing new there.
1 week til christmas, still not very organised but at least I've got the kids presents bought now, have a turkey and some chocolate, all we need now is some wine and we could make do

Wow, What lovely post, very brave woman, we are new to GC too, been here just under 8 weeks, we had inter-state move, still opening boxes, we found the heat unbearble too, my eldest finding the job market difficult to get into too, even thought he had no problem to get into SA one.
Wishing you all the best for the future, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
