We were 2006 applicants, got our visas stamped in 2009 and move out to Australia in 2009. We still love it here after all this time, we lived in regional NSW until 2019 then moved to Nelson Bay Area near Newcastle NSW Beautiful area.
We were early 40s in the UK, very comfortable no children and brought four dogs 🶠Everything pretty much worked out, we easily got jobs and have a great lifestyle, the hardest part is leaving family but with Skype, phone it’s not a drama. I’ve only been back twice but hubby goes back at least once a year to see his elderly parents. You just have to not see Australia as England with sun it’s a different country with its unique feel initially you think that’s English or that’s American but after a while it’s just Australian. We specifically started in a regional area with Australian population and didn’t regret it, we very quickly were made to feel part of so many families lives.
I was wondering if people are still migrating with the current madness going on in the world, if you are or thinking about it go for it it’s been our best decision only wish we’d done it a lot sooner.

Wish my parents had moved earlier. I’ve just passed my 54th anniversary here.
