You can't help some people
I was watching a program about Miami airport this afternoon. A conversation between a CBP officer and a passenger coming to stay (not visit) went like this.
CBP - "I see you have a visa in your passport when did you enter the US.
Pax - "Three years ago"
CBP - "Do you have an other immigration documents"
Pax - Produces a Green Card
CBP - "Do you reside in the US"
Pax - "No I don't I live in Bolivia"
CBP - "When did you last live in the US"
Pax - "2 years ago"
CBP - "Think carefully. You are the holder of a Green Card and you are being asked by a Customs and Border Control Officer if you reside in the US. Do you reside in the US"
Pax - "No I don't"
I thought the CBP Officer gave him every opportunity, but he ended up in due course having to go to Immigration Court for a judge to rule on abandonment.

Re: You can't help some people
Wonder if he was only being so nice because of the cameras?
Either way, some people are to stupid to deserve that kind of help
