WTF in America

Re: WTF in America
That wasn't a judgement, it was a fact and a serious contender for a WTF post on it's own merit!! Perhaps their whole business model needs reviewing, if their answer to enticing newbies into their establishments is to give them explosive diarrhea soon after consumption of their goods. It is hard to comprehend just how tricky it is to complete a 600 mile drive when you've made the mistake of lunching at one of their establishments. I just feel nauseous talking about them.

I for have never had stomach issues with Taco Bell, one of the safe fast food places, now Mc Donalds is another story it triggers my IBS like no tomorrow.

They have a hot sauce that makes everything taste good! I haven't been in a taco bell in years (perhaps decades) but I did once have their 'soft shell tacos' and ... with sufficient hot sauce ... tasted rather good!

Re: WTF in America
We have a choice of so many small family owned Mexican restaurants around us that we have never eaten at any of the chains.
I used to cut through the road between Taco Bell and Burger King everyday when I was working. I could never really tell which one had the worst fried greasy smell emitting from their buildings. It made me want to

I don't know how their prices are today, but back in my early 20's, they were a good place to eat cheap when you only had a couple dollars, could eat like a king....
Their famous cheap taco ads.
Introducing the Mexican Pizza in 1988, the Mexican pizza is actually pretty tasty, really nothing comparable to it anywhere else I have ever found.
I do wonder what Taco Bell was like in their early day's of the 1960's before they were a well known, huge fast food restaurant, the bell part of the name comes from the guy who started the company, his last name was Bell. He opened the first location in 1962 (back then it was walk up only, no dining inside or drive thru, and by 1967 had 100 locations, the company went public in 1970 and Pepsi bought them in 1978, and in 1997 Pepsi spun off its fast food joints.

Always preferred Taco Time to the Bell. I don't think I've ever had a Taco Bell without thinking, well, that could have been better. Not quite the same strain, but Chipotle's good.

Re: WTF in America
It is interesting in a way how Taco Bell and Taco Time evolved over the years, both started out around the same time in the early 1960's but one really took off and expanded and the other not so much, maybe Taco Bell founder was better at franchising.....
I think there is 1 Taco Time where we live and 1 Taco Bell, but Taco Bell in Canada is super basic and usually just a side menu at KFC,
