Re: WTF in America
Only people who use words and phrases such as "progressive agenda", use globalist, as anti semetic, that's why you have not come across it before.

Re: WTF in America
The continual assault on the English language is what should be feared, not the term "globalist."

Re: WTF in America
It is phrases such as "Jewish globalist agenda" (davidduke.com June 29 2016) from people like David Duke that have led to phrase such as "globalist" being linked with anti-Semitics, it was born in the right, from the same conspiracy obsessed corners that also see "progressive agenda"s where ever they look. It was not "made up" by "The Guardian"
I should add that while the word itself has no antisemitism intrinsic, Trump has shown that he does frequent such corners of the Internet that do use it that way, he knows.

I have no idea.
But the specifics of this case aside, it still blows my mind that prisoners who are in any case in shackles and under armed guard are made to waer a device through which they can be electrocuted.

Re: WTF in America
Interesting one, I looked this up last night after the posts above. Apparently, the word is an American coined word, 1890s, meaning simply - executed by electricity. Over in the UK, where they never did this, the word acquired a much less specific meaning - death or injury by electric shock, including accidental. I'd never thought of this before but it makes sense.
