A friend went streaking on his 10-speed when he was drunk back in the 70's and it did not end well. He ran from the police, crashed twice, abandoned his bike but made it home before collapsing. The water in the tub turned pink and he reported the bike stolen next day iirc. Every year he did something self-destructive like that until he married someone smarter than himself.

The overture to each performance was a couple of bottles of Retsina, and July 23 was the usual date. Good thing she put a stop to it. He was the of the chemists analysing uranium samples up north who had to raise the hue and cry over inadequate safety standards.

Interesting Hemingway fact, thanks for that. Serious question. I never saw or heard of a polydactyl cat in England, but over here (rural New York State) they all seem to have six or seven toes. Could that be because the gene pool of cats, presumably brought from Europe in colonial times, is limited?
