Looks like seven European teams will go through, a lot better than it looked just a day or two ago, when I thought it would just be four.

I don't know, to your question, but CBC is an alternative online English language source.

In fairness, all teams have looked a bit dodgy at the back but Germany is usually rock solid in defense, which is a little strange. Perhaps Lahm should return to left back again, why the hell Loew played four centre-halves at the back is beyond me

The US have handled themselves very well thus far though, IMO. A 1-0 loss against the Germans is nothing to be sneezed at. I reckon if they have a good day they can have Belgium. Quarter finals would be deserved, I think.

Brendan cant just throw him under the bus though. Got to say the club still want him, got to push Barcelona to go to the full buy-out clause price. Barcelona are still apparently interested.

This is kind of ironic, given it was a biting incident, from his grandmother:
.... his grandmother, Lila Piriz Da Rosa, said her grandson had been treated like "a dog"

and this from Gordon Taylor (which from him, is like saying he is a scab on the face of the earth that needs burning with fire)
"This is a human being who is clearly one of the best footballers in the world but he has this trait in his character which is so abnormal that needs looking at," PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor told BBC Sport.....We thought we'd got him back on track."

He refused to play for Fulham ever again even though he was under contract for another year because he wanted to force a move to a bigger (Champions League) club. He'd just had the best season of his career and thought he was bigger than us. Obviously he went to Spurs, hardly played or scored and lasted just the year til he was sold to Seattle.

Leaving us was probably the biggest mistake of his career.

Why a game that was - absorbing.

I feel really sorry for Chile, was rooting for them to go through.

Glad to see all this soccer is getting up Coulters nose.

If more "Americans" are watching soccer today, it's only because of the demographic switch effected by Teddy Kennedy's 1965 immigration law. I promise you: No American whose great-grandfather was born here is watching soccer. One can only hope that, in addition to learning English, these new Americans will drop their soccer fetish with time.

Saw that link on another forum. Who exactly is that clueless bint???

So Brazil looked pretty poor (and that's probably being kind). Through by the width of a crossbar/ upright! I think it might have led to a flat competition had Brazil been knocked out this early.

Brazil were lucky really....they didn't look convincing at all at the back, or against set pieces....or against anyone taking players on.

Think the ref had a pretty decent game too, and got that call right.

She gets paid to get page impressions for ad revenue. She knows exactly what she is doing. I.e. trolling.
