Haha...so true....it's a bit like people complaining that he hasn't really achieved anything, when it's the other side that keeps veto'ing any change :D

Spot on! He's actually done quite a lot considering he didn't get much (if any) help from the opposition. I just hope he holds firm and doesn't cave in on the Heath Care Law.

I saw an interview with a gal named Whitman who was a moderate Republican on CNN. (Sorry, I wasn't familiar with her before this, but I gather she's well known.) Finally someone who made a lot of sense!! She basically said that the Republicans voted into the office would make their go at repealing healthcare reform, but that honestly she thought most Americans were in favor of it, so it would be primarily for show and after 6 months or so they could focus on other things.

George Bush didn't exist as a president don't you know that?

He didn't spend trillions on two wars
didn't start the tarp program
didn't give excessive tax cuts

move along move along......... nothing to see here.

it's all Obama. Clinton left Obama a huge budget deficit and Obama spent it on stuff for the poor, who are lazy and shojuld get a job

That would be Christine Todd Whitman, former Gov. of NJ, former Administrator of the EPA under George W.

I think there's plenty of blame to go around for both parties.

I'm disappointed that he hasn't done anything to curb the influence of lobbyists (of all stripes) or even mentioned term limits to ameliorate the curse of career politicians. But since he's a career politician himself, I'm not surprised.

Not saying that Obama is perfect or the second coming of Christ.....but it doesn't matter who would have been elected, the job was all uphill from then.

I think that the right kind of career politician is okay. If we could stop the money flow, that's what would be left. Obama cannot curb the lobbyists, the Supreme Court says so; it will take an amendment to the Constitution to do that.
Make a name for yourself, start organizing a grassroots campaign now.

I'm in absolute, 100% agreement with your disappointment. I just despair when the argument goes "Obama has destroyed this fine country", ignoring all the desperately important complexities that led us into this worldwide f'king disaster and that still need fixing!

Equally I despair of the unthinking left trying to paint Obama as a heroic, historic president when I see him, as you say, as a rather dull career politician.
