what has America allowed you to do?
 
I have a garden, sorry yard that is so big I can raise a veg patch without making the rest of the garden (sorry yard!) child unfriendly, so what are you doing in the US that you couldn't in the UK?
I wanting positive stuff :rofl:

Drive a car after having no lessons

own a house bigger than both my mother's and my mother in laws

have a social life!!!

See my husband!! In england he would leave for work at 7am and not get home till 8.30 pm. Now he is home by 5 and doesnt work on the weekend (altho it seems i do...)

Never got the logic in that one :confused: if it has grass its a flippen garden, if it is just a small pavement area its a yard, in my book.

You see, to me, a garden is not just grass. A garden constitutes trees, plants, flowers, pavers, fountains, shrubs, possibly statuary, etc all usually laid out in a thought out plan..it's a lot fancier than just grass.

yes, otherwise it's a yard on this side of the pond, :)

of course there's also the whole plot thing, as in a vegetable plot.

:lol: I call that a veggie garden! I've not used 'plot' before. Hmmm I wonder if there's really a diff?

I don't think so, I think it's a more antiquated term, or maybe even region specfic or something. :confused:
