Hi everyone - Glad to see you are still here, hope you are all keeping well ;o)
The time has come where my conditions need to be removed from my green card (due 2/25/10) so starting to prepare my stuff now - Just a few questions that I would be very grateful for advice on please if possible?
we do not have joint mortgage or lease as this was already my wifes house before I moved here, so its still in her name.
We have a joint savings account - so I will send statement.
Our 2 vehicles are in joint names - I will send copies of the titles
Also copies of our joint car insurance
we each have life insurances - with each other as sole beneficiary, I will also send copies of these.
I have an Aflac policy with wife as beneficiary - I will send a copy of that.
I can get our telephone bill put into joint names if you think this would help too?
I think i need to obtain 2 afidavits from friends - does this need to be done by an attorney - or can i just get it notorized?
Also, the I-751 info says I need to send in a fingerprint chart, completed by a military installation - do i still need this if I am paying for more biometrics??
Thanks all
Chris

Don't forget to send in all your tax returns showing "married". Official IRS tax transcripts are even better.

I had a ton more info than the OP, including joint mortgage, cars, insurance and then got an RFE for affidavits. If he can do them, it couldn't hurt.

If you two want to, the real estate can be titled in both names without touching the mortgage. This is an advanced step, so ask for more info before charging in. I took a gamble on my DH and added him to the title (ownership) of the house without changing the mortgage (in my name only).
You might find utilities unable/unwilling to have two names on an account. you can substitute by having some utilities in one person's name, some in the other. But it's sort of late in the game for that.
You can also include mail addressed to you each individually showing the same residence.
Affidavits don't have to be done by an attorney or notarized; search here for "magic language'. Oops, I have it bookmarked.

Other than that, it's up to you. I studied up on it and we decided to NOT send affidavits.
Fingerprint chart? Please re-read the instructions more carefully.
You can include evidence of social ties and other things; keep in mind what is the purpose of this evidence and you'll think of things. You can also search here for I-751 'cover letter's since many of us have posted what we submitted, if you need more ideas.

Hi Meauxna - thankyou so much
In the past, my wife has been "screwed over" by her ex husband and her home is her security - I would not want to do anything that would make her think that I would be in a position to fight for her "stuff" if we ever split up - god forbid.
at the moment, we do have utilities in our own names - for example, she pays the utilities and I pay the phone, internet, cable and that sort of stuff. we therefore do have utility bills in our sole names - but both showing the same address.
I have just found the registration from the AKC showing us as joint owners of our show German Shepherd - I guess i could send that too.
Ref the fingerprint thing - this is what it said on the I-751 information sheet:
2. Two completed fingerprint cards (Form FD-258) for applicants and dependents between the ages of 14 and 79. You must indicate your Alien Registration Number (A#) on the fingerprint card and ensure that the completed cards are not bent, folded, or creased. The fingerprint cards must be prepared by a U.S. Embassy or U.S. consulate, USCIS Office, or U.S. Military Installation.
I will send them anything that I think may be useful - I hadn't thought of sending individually adressed mail so I will send some of that too (i never wanted a Capitol One Credit Card anyway) lol
Thanks for all your help - i really do appreciate it!
Regards

Your utility example is perfect.. clearly shows what you intend to show.
And I agree with everything else, except you still need to go back to the fingerprint instruction and read what "#2" is for.
