w8-bens / w9 forms for UK bank
Just curious, does anyone else here have to submit a w8-bens / w9 form annually to their UK bank. For me it started last year. One good thing is that I can just do it via docusign.

I've just been asked to do it for First Direct - not sure why as I am not a US resident and do not have a green card etc etc (left 3 years ago) - I do have a savings account in the US and First Direct seems to think this means I have to send a W8-BEN to them. I haven't done.

Yes, common now with FATCA. I have W9 requirements for all overseas bank accounts.
