Don’t Forget EU261/2004
It doesn’t happen very often but if a flight is delayed and falls within the terms of this regulation, don’t forget to claim.
My youngest son came for a visit last month and his flight from Amsterdam to Portland arrived 4 hours 6 minutes late, due to a technical fault. I reminded him to claim and Friday he received his compensation from Delta. Taking the compensation into account his return ticket from Birmingham cost him £62.

Oh that's interesting. Is there a time limit to file? I had a 52 hours delay returning from Germany in late July.

Curious ... what is EU261 and can it only be claimed if the flight originated in Europe or if it were a US originated flight going to Europe?
PS Never mind, I googled it and found the answer.

I just had a business trip to London on Virgin that was canceled due to mechanical issues and apparently I'm allowed to claim for compensation as an individual rather than through my company. Fingers crossed for a nice 600 euro credit.
