Although, if that were the case, presumably he'd have put a bit to chop of the female model too

Maybe he started with Airfix kits of Spitfires, and after realizing that he needed a nailfile to get the bit off where it was attached to the frame, thought "huh, not bad, think I'll put one of those on my people model"

Re: Unkindest gift of all
My (then) 11 year old had to have an op last year. Pediatrician sent us to a Urologist with a recommendation for circumcision (which is in line with AAP current recommendation, although they do seem to flip flop a bit). I wasn't keen, but before I could even raise it with the Urologist he queried why we wanted a circumcision as it wasn't necessary - a simple cut to release the adhesion would suffice, and would cause less nerve damage. He strongly recommended waiting until my son could make an informed decision and sign his own papers before having a circumcision. Needless to say, that's what we did. Of course, it is slightly different as he would know what was going on, rather than a new born who would have no idea of anything different. Ever.

As I said, it is hard for someone who has had it done to them to break the cycle, therefore we see the attempts at justification (dirty, looks funny or whatever).
