It has a better ending, but isn't anywhere near as complicated as the second.

Third and final part later this week "Salting the Battlefield."

Guardian and Indy both rated it very highly....
Really? I thought T & C was pretty dire. Wooden acting...equally wooden plot...wooden ending. Surprising as there were several big name actors in it. Don't know whether I can muster up the enthusiasm to watch the 3rd one.

Edit: Salting the Battlefield was slightly better...not much though.

just noticed that Rev, is back for a 3rd series.

A couple episodes in...anyone caught it? We really liked the first couple of series but didn't have a clue it was coming back, so pretty pleased about that

I only saw a few, either on a visit or when we paid for a VPN, but I enjoyed it.

Saw it.

Hope we get more than four episodes. You just start to get attached to the characters and then they disappear for a year. I'm watching Morse at the same time on the iplayer. They go together quite well.

You should cue up The Sweeney as well.

Ooh yeah, like a bit of Sweeney.

The Endeavour people did quite a bit to make the young Morse connect to the old Morse though, and the actor clearly studied John Thaw's work. I also like Thursday.

The Sweeney movie is available on Netflix streaming (Ray Winston is Jack Regan).

I'll let you form your own opinions!

Yes, this week's episode was exceptionally well timed to current affairs, the last scene brought a tear to my eye.

A friend who is ordained in the CofE informed me only half jokingly that Rev. is not a sitcom, it's a fly on the wall documentary.
