The UK has a very high population density and England is even higher, the problem is and always has been that everyone keeps moving to the SE and very little is done to reverse that trend. The SE is extremely densely populated.

Is this the same Japan that has an open door immigration policy?
Certainly in my life time that simply is not the case, massive areas have been covered in housing. To what extent it is a Government issue is arguable, I would comment that many of those developments were shown not fit for purpose and have been demolished.
There are 8 million Syrians looking for a home, how many Ukrainians?, most of Africa, etc etc I am sure they would pay National Insurance and Taxes.
Put out the welcome mat?
