Default Does anyone have a PAL VHS-C Camcorder?

I have a bunch of PAL VHS-C videotapes here that I want to digitize.

When I went home last month I bought, second hand, an Amstrad Videomatic camcorder, excellent condition, only to find that the output connection is very proprietary and I cannot find the appropriate cable anywhere.

Why do you need a camcorder, you just need a PAL VCR and the adapter cassette. The only problem I found is that the adapters can result in jerky playback, if you really want to do it properly you have to take the tape out of the VHS-C tape and put it in a VHS tape, then it will playback smoothly. But that takes ages with multiple tapes.

Well..if I had a camcorder then I wouldn't need a VCR and also an adapter.

However either one would do but very difficult finding one in the U.S. for reasonable price.

There seem to be a few on ebay, keep buying them until one turns up with a cable?

Surely the other end would be a normal connection to go into the tv? Knowing what comes out that end, can you not fashion your own connector for the other end?

Normally I would but it's an odd thing on the camera end.

Is that the standard DIN size? Looks like the same connector the used on their gaming consoles.

Unfortunately that model didn't have an AV out so no cable..but thanks for the tip.

However I found one up in Seattle...arrgghhh...$30.00 for the cable and $10.00 shipping....

Still maybe I can then sell the camcorder and cable afterwards on ebay...there might be others in my situation.

... does anyone have a PAL VHS player?

I brought some VHS tapes over to transfer to DVD ... forgetting about the format difference.

It's not worth renting one ($100/day I'm seeing).. otherwise I'll take them home at Christmas and do it there.

Help?

Sorry...I got my VHS-C system working ok but no PAL VHS player.
You have one back home? They seem to be disappearing fast.
