Re: Toddlers
I can tune out most TV shows but Peppa Pig used to drive me crazy. Daddy Pig is such a know it all.

Re: Toddlers
I actually like Pepper Pig. My little one is obsessed with the Education Connection commercial. She has been since she first saw it at about 6 months old. She could be screaming the house down, if that came on, she'd instantly stop and start smiling. As soon as it was over, the screaming would restart. Even now, if it comes on, which it still does occasionally, or I stick it on youtube, she'll stop, and be glued to the screen with a huge smile on her face.

Effing weird Canadians!
There are lots of conspiracy theories on the internet about why Calliou is bald.
Actually what is quite funny is for almost all kids shows you can google them and without fail there is some blog post or forum thread along the lines of "X kids show just doesn't make sense what the F is it all about?".

Calliou is plain weird. The kids are naughty all the time but never get told off, the dad is gender ambiguous, the title character looks like he has cancer, everything on the screen is surrounded by a white fuzz as if it is all a dream.

Re: Toddlers
The kids (now 16 and 12) and I had a little toddler nostalgia tour of YouTube the other day. Pingu and Engie Bengy were fondly remembered, Brum was now despised, and we all stared at In The Night Garden in open-jawed amazement at what they must've been smoking.

Smallchog loves Bagpuss, the Clangers, Pingu, Willo-the-wisp, and Fingerbobs. She is less impressed with Bod

Laughing over these reviews of various toddler TV cartoons!
My grandson over in the UK will turn 1 soon. I'm trying to make notes for his next visit....
Does any parent here forbid telly/screen time for their toddler? So far my daughter & her hubby seem pretty strict, they try hard to make sure any screens are off or not facing him, though I know his papa sometimes gives up & lets him see a bit of footie & Formula One.

Same here. It's much easier if you are putting your kid in childcare for 8 hours a day and only have to spend a couple of hours with your kids in the evening. However my kids have a stay at home mom.

I don't recall the exact day we cracked but I think it was around 6 months. Now at age 4 he demands the "teenie tiny computer" (ipad) and we just shrug.
