Gotta laugh - my wife was asked where abouts in India she was from (face to face) and then that evening was asked to record the phone message at her local hair salon (free cuts for 6 months) ;-))

SO I often wondered (cause I hear it a dozen times a day) has anyone come up with a good response to '......thats a really great accent' remarks from cashiers, homeless people, others overhearing your conversation, etc etc?
Ok not totally naive I know when they substitute the word 'cute' for 'great' my luck is in and it could be the start of a wonderful relationship ! but honestly what do you reply?
Saying 'hey yours is really great too' or just 'thanks' seems a bit lame. Someone must have a good response out there ?
Also because of the accent 'Charlie' tends to be interpreted (Especially at StarBucks) as 'Jolly' which gets worse when the server shouts JOLLY after the drink is made.......Christmas this isnt so bad.....rest of the year it is (Stop laughing). Ive tried learning an accent and it isnt working .....I sound like a retarded Elvis/John Wayne mix. Perhaps a baseball hat stating 'Its freakin Charlie not Jolly' might do it.

I said to him "What do you mean you can't understand my language, you're speaking it!"
So for the rest of the conversation I put on a really thick East End accent... and he understood me.
My colleagues were pissing themselves laughing!

It should be 3, I wish it was 10 but isn't as strong now (I don't think) but I have a weird accent about 10% of it was N Ireland, apparently I was told I was really Scottish then came out in a sentence with some words that were Irish.
You can tell in number 3 an Ayrshire accent is very low while a nice Glaswegian is just lovely.
If I could figure out where in this laptop my microphone was then you could all pick it to pieces.
But you have the exclusive round here on the sexist accent 
All I want to know is do you sing as well Barry White?!

Hubby on the other hand, when he hears someone say it to me (he's the USC) does the following :
If its a woman saying it he says 'yeah it gets old once you get used to it'
If its a man saying it he says 'tell me about it - sexy huh? even when she's bitching at me I get turned on, you should get yourself a brit' followed by retarded laughter and back slapping all round.

Allllright, before this goes any further, I'll admit that I can't sing a note. Hell, I can barely talk! The closest I ever came to singing Barry White was when I bought my wife an afrocentric anniversary card and read it to her in a Barry White voice.
