Apparently Harvey Keitel has been cast as Gene Hunt in the US remake of Life On Mars, which does make the show sound a little more interesting. Although for many there will only ever be one Gene Hunt, it might pull in a few viewers who've never seen the original.

Swingtown is pretty amusing though once you get past the first couple of episodes, we're still liking it.

Burn Notice is still fun, little cheesy though.

Anything else worth keeping an eye on?
I think Flashpoint is OK...better than most of the new series that's showing right now.

why does MasterPiece theatre need an introduction and explanation of the program that's to follow?

No doubt ER has a lengthy explanation of it in the UK these days...

Why not?

The introduction is usually interesting and besides it gives my OH time to pour out my tea before the episode begins..

I'm really not sure of old boy Harvey....isn't he nearly 70..?

I wonder if they'll have the scene where Gene and Sam have a fist fight..

So is there anything funky on the UK side? I probably should ask in the Nova thread, but what the hell...

I've given up on Flashpoint and Fear Itself as I lost interest.

Not much at the moment. Mock The Week is quite funny, and New Tricks is usually quite good. I tried watching Bonekickers, but it was a bit crap TBH.
One or two things coming along in the autumn that look worth checking out, in particular the remake of Survivors, Little Doritt, and Merlin.

Cool, I'll keep an eye out for those later

We've been watching Not Going Out on bbca which we thought was pretty good, they're showing the second series now, a bit of a daft comedy, but it's quite fun.
