Default Tax question ref W7 and ITIN

I was wondering if anyone here in the States had an ex wife back in the UK that they were paying alimony to.
I have been for many years and it was included in my tax return.
Unfortunately her ITIN has expired and I need to apply for a new number.

Previously had a tax preparer deal with this, thought I would try myself this year.
Renewing the number seems very complicated.

Anyone else do this themselves?
