Default Switching school systems

Hi all,

Potentially moving back in September. DD will be starting year 2. At the moment she is in Year 1 in WA.

Has anyone moved back at this age and is there anything I should be getting concerned about. Do kids really adjust quickly? Will DD have to do much to catch up?

Thanks in advance.

Poppet.

We moved back from Canada when my daughter was the same age. She was slightly behind but within 3 months she had caught up and even overtaken some. Don't worry too much about it.

You have already asked that question twice (!) before!

If you've forgotten the advice given to you then, here are your two previous threads so you can re-read it:

perfect. Thanks. Always good to be able to see the posts again I forgot to do a search. The issue just came up again recently due to kids in my DD's class only still on basic phonics at school and it appears that quite a few of the people I know in the UK are reading to a much higher level. Someone had also said to me recently that if you apply to grammar schools then the year 2 sats may also play a part etc.

This OCD lady needs to relax again
