Solar eclipse 2024

It was like some of those time lapse things you see.
Like the sun lowering, getting dark and then sun rising.
Except it was a funny sort of light and dark. Not "night" dark and I could still make out the shadow of my house roof on the grass at he back. I stood on the deck and some birds in the tree were going crazy.

I was actually on my way back to PA from Montreal the day of the eclipse. I managed to see it in Calcium NY which was in the area of totality. I had the glasses to watch it all so it was very cool seeing it happen and seeing how dark it was during totality. Only downside was the insane traffic because of that going home afterwards. Didn't get home until well after midnight!

Apparently it was still good though and they were awestruck by the total eclipse.

It was just cloudy here in the northwest. Some people a few hundred miles away from me got enough of a break in the clouds to see a bit of sun with a small chunk taken out, but I didn't see anything.

It's not so bad if you didn't have to travel, must be hard for those folks who made a major trip to try and see it. I think even parts of Texas were clouded over.
