Thanks Rete. Yes, it's going well. I had three days volunteering at one of my kids' 6th grade camp last week, staying in cabins in incredible scenery, about 100 miles north of Anchorage. Not an experience we could have had in Houston.

The winter was much warmer than normal, other than a few days of heavy snow at the end of April that caused quite a few road accidents

It's taking a long time to make good friends, for a combination of reasons, but that happens to most people when they move long distance. We'll get there.

Sounds like things are falling into place, Owen. Alaska has breathtaking scenery.

Yes it does, thanks. We're planning to get out a see more of it once the kids finish school in a couple of weeks. Maybe some whales too.

Houston got away fairly well this time but my county still has rising rivers. We are fairly safe from having our house flooded again but the surrounding floods just means I have to work a lot of overtime testing all the drinking water!

Glad you are enjoying life in Alaska!
