I did Stockton, CA to Denver, CO in 24hrs and 50 minutes when I picked up my old Volkswagen GTI.

I survived on Gatorade and Granola bars and stopped in Murray, UT for about 3 hours sleep. Wouldn't ever do it again!

That 24hr 50 mins also included me getting pulled over in Wyoming for no other reason apart from being asked if I had any 'dope' in the car...

Kansas isnt the only state with tolls on interstates. IL uas them as well on some. I think some eastern states do as well.

California does as well but the main ones like I-5 and I-10 are toll free.

We got a ticket in Kansas for 92 in a 75. $190 something. BS.

Been a truck driver all my life, I have driven the entire lower 48 states and sadly had not much time to look at the views, I had a run in the UK during my last job over there which was starting at Inverness showground and driving to Stithians showground in Cornwall, the drive took 2 days. Over here I average 2500 miles every 5 days.

OK, not an impressively fast trip at all, but back in the 90s when we lived in Houston with our young kids, we drove from Texas to Connecticut and back several times in our camper van. The Blue Ridge Parkway, the Smoky Mountains, the Natchez Trace Trail, the Ozarks.... Long drives but amazing scenery interspersed with some boring areas.

Lately, the husband & I have driven around a fair bit of New England (where we now live); we particularly like Maine's Acadia region for car camping.

Great looking dog. He will be a lot better off in Colorado weather than in Florida.

As a family we often drive around r north eastern area and stop at various spots, Mystic CT is well worth a visit if not for the really amazing Mystic Pizza which really exists ands awesome but the old harbor full of sailing ships and the sea world type aquarium are great. We found some good, smaller secluded beaches there. Hampton Beach NH is our nearest beach and we will be heading there tomorrow (07/05/18).
In my travels as a truck driver I have stopped at some awesome places, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Oregon (in my opinion the most beautiful state). The Cascades are amazing, I have hauled loads from NYC to Truro NS, the drive is beautiful.

Did So California to Banff, Canada a few years back. The scenery through the Rockies on Canada Highway One was awesome. Never saw any wildlife in spite of the beware signs frequently posted along the way.

Saturday heading up to the Oregon coast and taking the Rogue river boat trip then on up to Portland and a stop off to see Multnomah Falls and the Columbia river

Jasper further north has better viewing options for animals from the highway, I have not driven through there yet without seeing some sort of large wildlife.

If gas was more affordable, I would take another trip through Jasper, its a nice area, but with gas running 5.50+ per US gallon, road trips are cost prohibitive here.
